Hey Do Good Crew,

This week, we’re following up on Rob Burnside, the Ohio principal we introduced you to in last week’s “Beg-Knows America.” What happened next became bigger than any of us expected. When we told you about it, you didn’t just read it; you showed up for it.

  • Spotlight: Rob gave up his job to keep a homeless student in school. Since then, the Do Good Crew has helped raise over $52,000, which he’s turning into a scholarship to support other kids.

  • Dear David: A wildfire was bearing down on Jason Cocke's neighborhood. Then he walked toward the flames and asked how he could help.

  • The Person Who Believed In Me: Bozoma Saint John on the people who believed in her before the world did, and helped her trust her own voice.

  • Goodie Bag: Dolly Parton spent a lifetime lifting people up, while reminding generations to believe in themselves even when others didn't.

  • Beg-Knows America: One question on a Miami sidewalk led us to a teacher outside Chicago, and a surprise that left him speechless.

And now, we want to hear from you! We've set up a voicemail to get your good news. Call (323) 205-6644 and tell us about something good that's happened to you. We might give you a shoutout in a future newsletter or on social.

Let’s get into it!

With gratitude,
David
