Hey Do Good Crew,

This week, I’ve been thinking about all the things many of us assume everyone gets to experience: a birthday cake, a family vacation, or a parent who believes in them. The truth is, not everyone gets those things, but we can change that.

That’s what struck me about every story in this week’s newsletter. Behind each one are people who stepped up to give others something many of us take for granted.

  • 🎂 A teenager in foster care receives his very first birthday cake at age 15

  • 🏖️ A vacation for exhausted families caring for children with disabilities

  • 🇺🇸 Strangers rally around a military widow and a struggling veteran

  • 🎙️ Sharon Stone shares the story of the father who taught her never to let others define her.

Let’s get into it.

With gratitude,
David

We’re working on a project that celebrates stories from the back of an Uber. Has a driver ever gone above and beyond in an unthinkable way? If so, we’d love to hear about it. Click to share your story.
